This tour needs to be done during the rain season because the Mandassaia river is intermittent and gets dry if rains are not frequent. It´s certainly one of the nicest places waterfalls Lençóis and Chapada Diamantina. Its horseshoe shape impresses everyone and allows shower in several different places. Below the waterfall there are 2 pools that are also good for bathing.
We need a car transport for about 45 minutes, going through Barro Branco village, which was one of the first places occupied by humans in the Lençóis region at the beginning of diamond exploration. The car leaves us at the entrance of the trail. The first part is done in around 15 minutes and the difficulty level is easy. It connects the parking lot to the river. The second part is another 30 minute walk jumping from rock to rock until we reach the waterfall. That part is a bit more technical, requiring careful on slippery rocks on the way. When we arrive at the waterfall we have much time to swim, eat lunch and relax. Be sure to enjoy every moment of this tour which is a privilege of few travalers. We return by the same way to Lençóis.
Obs.: All routes can be adapted or changed without warning because of weather conditions, which can affect acess roads, or difficult of somebody from the group.
