This is one of the most beautiful waterfalls of Chapada Diamantina and certainly of Brazil too. We can choose to go to see its top and bottom in 2 days or only its top or bottom in 1 day. And it can also be linked with the Buracão Watefall´s scince they are close to each other, taking 2 or 3 days.

Fumacinha Trek Detailed:

In 1 day:
Fumacinha Waterfall´s Top: After overnight in Mucuge, we travel approximately 1 hour until the track entrance. The trail is steep and takes about 45 minutes. After we reach the plateau walk for 1 hour until the top of the Fumacinha Waterfall and its beautiful canyon. After stopping for lunch and rest we returned the same way to the car.

Fumacinha Waterfall´s Bottom: After overnight in Baixão de Ibicoara we start walking in a light trail until the Riachão River. After the light part it begins to stretch the technical part, which is walking on the river jumping from stone to stone. There are 9 km of trail in these conditions, making this trek become one of the most difficult 1-day-hike in the Chapada Diamantina. Generally we walk for 3.5 hours to reach the waterfall´s bottom, where we stop for swiming and have lunch with one of the most beautiful views of Chapada Diamantina: the Fumacinha Waterfall bottom. After resting, swiming and eating we follow the same path back to the Baixão Ibicoara.

In 2 days:

1st day: We leave Lençóis or Mucugê to Cascavel, where we start to hike. We go up for 45 minutes in a steep trail to reach the mountain´s top, which is a flat top. We walk for around 1 hour to reach the waterfall´s top. The view is beautiful and we stop for swimming and photos. We keep walking for another 30 minutes to have one of the most beautiful views of Chapada Diamantina: The canyon of Fumacinha. The view will impress everyone. Walking for another 30 minutes the hard part begins: the gap that leads us down to the river, where we will camp. The way down requires care as there are places where we can slip. We camp on the riverbank.

2nd day: We leave early after breakfast. We Jump from rock to rock along the river for about 2.5 hours until we reach the waterfall´s bottom  where we will swim and have lunch. After a good time enjoying the place we start to walk back: 9 km jumping stones until Baixão Ibicoara of where the car is waiting for us for a long trip back to Lençóis.

We can link this tour with the Buracão Waterfall since they are close toe each other, making a 2 or 3 day trip to visit both.

Obs.: All tours can be changed without notice because of weather conditions or the groups rhythm. This trek must be booked with one month in advance.

Obs.: We always work to reach the number of 4 person at least for this package, but we can go with less people according to the prices bellow. If you want a private tour let us know, the prices bellow are valid for open groups only.

Fumacinha 1 day (includes: transport, visit taxes, trained guide and lunch). Starting and finishing in Ibicoara.

Fumacinha 2 days (includes: breakfast, lunch, dinner, sleeping bag, matress, tent, guide, transport and visit taxes). Starting in Mucugê and finishing in Ibicoara.
