Discover Chapada Diamantina 8 days
This package was developed for those who are coming first time to Chapada Diamantina or for those who liked so much that want to repeat the experience. We go for the main Chapada´s post cards in 1-day-tours, which leave in the morning and end in late afternoon to sleep in a pousada (we don´t camp in this package). Even in the easier tours we need to “win” ascents, descents and irregular trail with slope steps of different sizes, so get ready for the challenge!

1st day: Transfer from airport and Muritiba Valley.
2nd day: Limesonte Caves.
3rd day: Pai Inácio Mount and waterfalls.
4th day: Blue Pool and Enchanted Pool.
5th day: Buracão Waterfall.
6th day: Fumaça Waterfall.
7th day: Marimbus.
8th day: transfer to airport.

The Discover Chapada Diamantina 8 days package starts on thursdays or sundays, our flight dates. If you don´t come by plante we can adapt to your desires.
1st day: Reception at the airport and Vale da Muritiba: transfer from the airport to Lençóis to check in at the pousada. We can enjoy an easy walk to Serrano natural Pools in the Rio Lençóis. From there we can walk to Cachoeira da Primavera, 35 minutes distant, or to Cachoeirinha, 15 minutes distant. We can also see the Salão das Areias Coloridas (Colored Send Saloon), close to Serrano, but the way is very irregular. We do not always have time to see all the attractions above, it depends on the group’s walking rythim and the plane time.

2nd day: Limesonte caves- Torrinha, Fumacinha and Pratinha + Azul.
The Limestone Caves Tours we start the day with an 1 hour car trip through beautiful scenery across the northern limits of the national park. Our first stop is the Torrinha Cave, which contains the most rare speleothems of Brazil, and is considered the most complete cave in the country. The White Hall, the Hall of needles and the Hall of Flowers are impressive and up to 3 hour tour is unforgettable. After this tour we continue on the road for 15 minutes to the restaurant where we will have lunch. After lunch we visit the Fumaça Cave, shorter, with about 45 minutes visit. It is smaller but very beautiful, full of speleothems everywhere. After this visit we continue to the Pratinha Farm, where we can relax in a gorgeus crystalline water from the Pratinha Cave forming a lake. We also visit the Blue Cave and left the farm at about 17:15. The return to tough Lençóis in 1 hour car trip, arriving around 18:30.

3rd day: Pai Inácio Hill and waterfalls.
The tour starts with 30 minutes car trip. We park the car and walk for 30 minutes on an off road to Pai Inácio Waterfall. We swim and relax in a beautiful and little frequented location. We return to the car and drive for 15 minutes until Cabana do Louro, with local artesanat, where we leave the car. We go down in a 5-minute-trail to the Mucugezinho River, where we stop for swimming and lunch. After lunch we have another 15 minutes of trail to the bottom of the Devil’s Pool Waterfall, where we stop for delicious waterfall bath and relax until 16:00, when we go back to the car and drive to Pai Inácio Hill. We walk up 20 minutes to the top of the mountain, where we have beautiful panoramic view and an unforgettable sunset.

4th day: Blue Pool and Enchanted Pool.
A 1.5 hour car trip lead us to the Blue Pool. We go down 60 meters to the pool, where we enjoy the beauty and we can swim. We have lunch in the restaurant with typical food and drive 1 hour to the Enchanted Pool, with its huge pool that shines during the time that the sunlight falls directly on the water. It´s one of the main cards of the Chapada Diamantina. Than we drive 45 minutes to Mucugê for the overnight.

We leave Mucuge in the morning in an one hour traveling to the city of Ibicoara, where we will make a brief stop in the local Guides Association. Then another 1 hour journey (30 km of dirt road) leads us to the trailhead. The walk takes about 1 hour, parallel with the river for 45 minutes and decline in the last 15 minutes to reach the bottom of Buracão waterfall. After swimming in the pool, take pictures, admire, and swim we goup to see the top of Buracão Waterfall. We stop in a pleasent place to eat the snacks. Then we return to the car and start our long journey of 250km back to Lençóis.

We have an 1 hour trip to Palmeiras and another hour to the Capão Valley, where we start our walk. Fumaça Waterfall is 12 km long, with 6 km to go and 6 km to go back. Almost 4 km in steep terrain with irregular trail, so we do not recommend for people who do not have a good physical preparation. The first part of the trail is a 1-hour climb to the conquest of the plateau, which we call Gerais da Fumaça. One more hour walk in the plan to reach the top of the Fumaça Waterfallfall, a 340 m high, with a wide view of the deep valley from different angles of the waterfall. We return to the car in the same trail. On the way back to Lençóis we stop for a swim in Riachinho Waterfall, walking about 1 km. We swim and drive back to Lençóis in a 1,5 hour car trip.

The Marimbus is between the cities of Lençóis and Andaraí. It´s a plain flooded area made by the rivers San Antonio and Utinga. The community of Remanso, 1 hour from Lençóis, is the gateway to this mini wetland. In small wooden boats equipped with rower, or Kaiak (available for rent), the boat-crossing takes 1,5 hours until the Rio Roncador. After 20 minutes of light walk, we get to the restaurant, where lunch is served. It´s typical home cooking in an old mansion, close to the Rio Roncador. In the afternoon, swe wim in natural pools. We return to the car in a 1 hour trail and drive back to Lençóis in 1 hour.

8th day: Transfer to the airport.
It´s possible to make a half day tour in the morning if you wish (not included in the price). We´d recommend the Ribeirão do Meio half day tour.
We leave Lençóis to the airport at 13:15.
